Saludos amantes del cine, esta es lo participación en el Cine TV Contest #31 - Favorite Movie with a Young Lead, en donde les comparto mi opinión sobre la actriz Natalie Portman en su debut en la película The Profesional de 1994.

La película sobre Leon The Profesional es una de mis favoritas de toda la vida, la misma está protagonizada por Jean Reno, Gary Oldman y Natalie Portman, esta fue la primera película de ella quien fue seleccionada apenas con 11 años, la película se grabaría después y se estrenó cuando ella tenia 13, su papel se trata de Mathilda una niña de 12 años que viene de un hogar completamente disfuncional, donde su padre tiene negocios de drogas con miembros corruptos del departamento de narcóticos de New York, esta niña ha crecido sin supervisión parental , viviendo el maltrato, por lo que ha abandonado al escuela y se la pasa vagando y fumando fuera del apartamento, todo cambia cuando su familia es asesinada por el líder de la división de la policía, el corrupto Stanley, ella no estaba en casa y cuando regresa al darse cuenta de lo acontecido pide a su vecino que la deje pasar, el vecino es Leon un hombre solitario que se dedica a ser asesino a sueldo, allí comienza la aventura de Mathilda y Leon, en donde ella lo convence a él para que le ayude a usar armas para vengar la muerte de su hermano menor, a cambio de que ella se ocupa de las cosas domésticas de Leon.
The movie about Leon The Professional is one of my all-time favorites, it stars Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman, this was her first movie who was selected when she was just 11 years old, the movie would be recorded after and it premiered when she was 13, her role is about Mathilda, a 12-year-old girl who comes from a completely dysfunctional home, where her father has drug deals with corrupt members of the New York narcotics department, this girl has grown up without parental supervision, experiencing abuse, so she has dropped out of school and spends her time wandering and smoking outside the apartment, everything changes when her family is murdered by the leader of the police division, the corrupt Stanley, she was not in house and when she returns realizing what happened, she asks her neighbor to let her pass, the neighbor is Leon, a lonely man who is dedicated to being a hitman, there begins Mathilda's adventure and Leon, where she convinces him to help her use weapons to avenge the death of her younger brother, in exchange for her taking care of Leon's housework.
Pero esta publicación no se trata de la película en sí, sino de la grandiosa actuación de Natalie, sólo imagínense que una niña de 12 años interprete un papel tan profundo , oscuro y alegre al mismo tiempo, la adolescencia es una de las etapas de la vida más emocional, en donde las personas nos encontramos en un puente en donde podemos tener pensamientos muy maduros al mismo tiempo que conservamos inocencia infantil en muchos aspectos , esta etapa de desarrollo es muy vulnerable al ambiente, por eso interpretar a una niña que vive ese proceso dentro de una familia problemática no es fácil, cuando el personaje de Mathilda queda indefenso, va buscando ayuda y lo primero que encuentra es a León que es una asesino, muchas veces en la vida real no entendemos como los niños caen en manos de gente mala , pero la maravillosa actuación de Natalie nos hace sentir empáticos, nos ponemos en lugar de esa niña que con apenas 12 años la vida le ha tratado tan mal, aunque obviamente Natalie no creó los diálogos de la película, ella los hizo creíbles.
But this publication is not about the movie itself, but about Natalie's great performance, just imagine that a 12 year old girl plays a role so deep, dark and happy at the same time, adolescence is one of the stages of the more emotional life, where people find ourselves on a bridge where we can have very mature thoughts while preserving childhood innocence in many aspects, this stage of development is very vulnerable to the environment, that's why playing a girl who lives that process within a problematic family is not easy, when the character of Mathilda is left defenseless, she goes looking for help and the first thing she finds is León who is a murderer, many times in real life we do not understand how children fall into the hands of people bad, but Natalie's wonderful performance makes us feel empathic, we put ourselves in the place of that girl who, at just 12 years old, life has treated her so badly, although obviously Natalie did not create it he dialogues in the film, she made them believable.
Uno nota como el personaje de Mathilda puede mostrar su lado depresivo, alegre, audaz, caprichoso e incluso impulsivo de una forma verdadera, la actriz modula su voz a la emoción del momento perfectamente como si se tratara de una actriz con larga experiencia, podemos ver como tiene una voz infantil pero profunda cuando le pregunta a León que si la vida es así de difícil siempre o solo cuando se es niño, podemos ver como sus gestos y sus lágrimas son desgarradoras cuando suplica a la puerta de León que la deje pasar cuando su familia acaba de ser asesinada, aquí el director hace una toma de la cara de Mathilda que no solo es fantástica para la escena, sino que deja ver lo talentosa que es Natalie, porque al abrir la puerta la luz da a la cara de ella y sus ojos con lágrimas cambian, el brillo de sus ojos ahora en lugar de llanto reflejan alivio, se puede ver como en ese momento Leon ante sus ojos se convierte en su salvador.
One notices how the character of Mathilda can show her depressive, happy, daring, capricious and even impulsive side in a true way, the actress modulates her voice to the emotion of the moment perfectly as if she were an actress with long experience, we can see as she has a childish but deep voice when she asks León if life is always this difficult or only when you are a child, we can see how her gestures and her tears are heartbreaking when she begs León's door to let her pass when her family has just been murdered, here the director takes a shot of Mathilda's face that is not only fantastic for the scene, but also shows how talented Natalie is, because when she opens the door the light hits her face and her eyes with tears change, the brightness of her eyes now instead of tears reflect relief, you can see how at that moment Leon before her eyes becomes her savior.
Aunque en muchas partes causó polémica, para mi Natalie estaba en la edad correcta para interpretar al personaje de Mathilda, su edad hacia creíble al personaje, además que su actuación era muy buena, Natalie apenas estaba experimentando los cambios de la pubertad pero seguía siendo una niña, por lo que los creadores de la película así como los mismo actores sugirieron algunas cambios que vinieron muy bien, gracias a la maravillosa actuación de Jean Reno uno se da cuenta que aún con la admiración e incluso amor platónico siente Mathilda en un momento, el seria incapaz de hacer algo sexual con ella, sin embargo, el mundo está lleno de personas horrible y es lamentable que la actriz haya vivido muchas situaciones incómodas con ese tipo de personas asquerosas que vieron en su personaje la oportunidad de sexualizar a una niña, sin embargo, ella no sólo dio una maravillosa actuación en la cinta sino que enfrentó esos ataques siendo una actriz integra que desde esa película en adelante siempre escogió papeles de altura, en donde brillaba siempre su actuación y no por su cuerpo, mi completa admiración a Natalie, quien para mi fue una niña prodigio de la actuación y que con el pasar de los años ha ganado tantos premios incluido el Oscar.
Although in many parts it caused controversy, for me Natalie was at the right age to play the character of Mathilda, her age made the character believable, in addition to her acting being very good, Natalie was barely experiencing the changes of puberty but she was still a girl, so the creators of the film as well as the actors themselves suggested some changes that came in handy, thanks to the wonderful performance of Jean Reno one realizes that even with the admiration and even platonic love Mathilda feels at one point, He would be incapable of doing something sexual with her, however, the world is full of horrible people and it is unfortunate that the actress has experienced many uncomfortable situations with those kinds of disgusting people who saw in her character the opportunity to sexualize a girl, However, she not only gave a wonderful performance in the film, but also faced those attacks by being an upright actress who, from that film onwards, always She always chose high-profile roles, where her performance always shone and not because of her body, my complete admiration for Natalie, who for me was a child prodigy of acting and who over the years has won so many awards, including the Oscar.
